The Un-Impoverished charity organization is hosting a fun day in the park on April 23 at 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Washington Park in Price. Everyone in the community is invited to attend this free event. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Director, Barbara Brown to discuss all the details.
One of the main services that the Un-Impoverished organization does is to help keep the landfill green from large furniture items. “We help keep the community green by helping people to either consignment sale or donate if what ever way they want to repurpose things that they may have sitting in their garages and things like that. So we help people to sell or donate their items so we can keep usable items out of the dump, out of the landfills,” said Brown. The organization than turns around and uses the funds from the sale of items to help fund community outreach events like the day in the park.
“We want everybody to come out and just hang out with your community members, your neighbors, your families, what have you, it’s all free. We’ll be doing prizes, and we have games set up, you know some for the younger children, some for the older children or teens, young adults, everyone. WE have something for everyone to do,” explained Brown. This event will feature a wide array of activities to enjoy, plus there will be refreshments and drinks shared as well.
Right now, Un-Impoverished has opened up the event to any other organizations that would like to help sponsor, set up a booth/game or just volunteer for the day. Individuals can contact Brown on the charity’s Facebook page or call (435) 630-9556 for further details.
