In the most recent RPI, The Carbon Dinos have held on to the top spot once again and the Lady Spartans slid back one place to No.5. It was a quiet week last for both programs for the Spring Break holiday, and now they will make the sprint to the end of the regular season the first week of May.
The RPI is a mathematical equation that ranks teams by the strength of their schedule and is based on three different parameters: the teams winning percentage , their opponents winning percentage and their opponents opponents winning percentage. The equation gives each team a percentage and then those numbers are used to rank each team throughout the season. With the playoffs coming up in early May, teams can get an idea as to whom they may be playing when the time comes.
Carbon’s last game was on April 1 with a 15-0 win over Emery. They were scheduled to face Canyon View in Price on April 12 that game was postponed due to weather and has been rescheduled. On Thursday they are scheduled to be on the road at North Sanpete. Carbon will welcome Emery to Price on Friday at the complex at the Carbon County Fairgrounds. The game will be the game of the week and can be heard on KOAL 107.3 FM or 750 AM, you can also stream the game live clicking on the link HERE.
Emery has not been on the field since April 2, when they were in Payson for a tournament which saw them play four games going 3-1. Emery will head back to the field Friday to take on the Carbon Dinos in Price. Game time is set for 5 p.m..
