Wednesday afternoon Emery traveled to Richfield to face the Wildcats for the third time. Back on Monday, the Spartans swept the double-header against the Wildcats. On Wednesday Emery claimed the season series with a 16-1 victory.

The Spartans racked up 20 hits with eight different players registering at least one hit in the victory, and on the mound Turner Stoker earned a three hit complete game.

Emery jumped out in the first putting up four runs. Gannon Ward got it started with a triple to center field that brought Wade Stilson home.

Emery really stepped it up in the second putting up six runs, two that came off the bat of Oakley Alton, when his single to center scored Ryker Jensen and Jace Mangum. The scoring would end in the second when Alton would score on a walk.

The third was another six run inning for the Spartans with hits from Jensen, Wakefield and Alton, who drove in two runs. Mason Stilson added a hit with an RBI and Alton would walk in for another run.

Jensen led the Spartans with four hits driving in three and also scoring three, Alton finished with three hits, driving in three and scored a run.

Emery now sits at 11-7 and carries a 6-3 mark in Region 12 play. In the latest RPI rankings from the Utah High School Activities Association, the win over Richfield has moved them up two spots to No. 8.

The Spartans have just one region series left and it will begin next Tuesday when they welcome Carbon to Castle Dale for a double-header for the first of three games with the Dinos next week. The region season will end for Emery next Friday when they travel  to Price to finish out the series.

The double-header in Castle Dale on April 19 will begin at 2 p.m., with the second game set to go at 4.

The game at Carbon on next Friday will start at 3:30.
