Laurel Ann Ramstetter passed away in Las Cruces, NM surrounded by her family on April 16, 2022. She was 67.
She was born on January 27, 1955 to Lawrence and Marianne Jewkes Anderson in Price, Utah. They preceded her in death.
She grew up in Scofield and Helper, Utah. Laurel graduated from Carbon High and attended LDS Business College. She had various careers throughout her life as a court administrator, real estate broker, signing agent and her most important and successful one as a mother to Michael and Robert.
She married Ralph on September 29, 1984 in Price. Laurel and Ralph had two wonderful sons and many great friends. She always enjoyed their many trips that usually turned into an adventure before getting back home. She had a passion for the outdoors, her family, traveling, her cats and motorsports. She was proud of the time she spent as one of the few female mud bog and sand drag racers in the early 2000s. She was the points champion two years in a row for the modified class. She always told people it made her happy to be with Ralph and the boys every weekend during the summer when they went from race to race.
She is survived by her loving husband Ralph; two sons that were the light of her life, Mike ( Ashley) of Carlsbad, NM and Bobby ( Josie) of Cleveland, UT; grandchildren, Annie and Huck Ramstetter; brothers, Wayne Anderson (daughter, Beverly) and Brent Anderson (Debbie, sons, Travis, Justin and Derek) of Price; mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Jean Ramstetter; brother-in-law, Mike (Jackie), sisters-in-law, Patty Ramstetter and Marie (Terry) McGann; and many special friends in Utah, Idaho, Colorado and New Mexico.
The family would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the staff in the ICU department at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. They were professional and compassionate. The life flight nurses, the doctors and especially the ICU nurses, they made a heart-breaking situation bearable.
