The Spartan track and field squad made the trip to Duchesne on Tuesday to face a dozen other teams from around the state. At the end of the day the Boys walked away with a second place finish and the girls ended the day in tenth.

North Sevier claimed the top spot for the boys with 107 points, Emery finished right behind with 102. Duchesne, Maeser Prep and Monticello rounded out the top five.

Camdon Larsen claimed first place in the 3200 with a time of 11:04.69, Dillan Larsen finished in second at 11:17.47.

The relay team of Jace Christiansen, Boston Huntington,Camdon Larsen and Porter Hurdsman claimed second place in the 4 x 400 in 3:56.85.

Anthony Bouldin finished in the second spot in the high jump competition.

In throwing events Derek Canterbury claimed the top spot in the discus as well as a second place in the javelin and third in the shot put. Maddox Christman took second in the shot and third in javelin.

For the girls it was Monticello in first followed by North Sevier. Maeser Prep, Altamont and Duchesne made up the rest of the top five.

For Emery it was the 2-2-4-8 relay team of Brynn Gordon, Aliya Lester, Dorothy Fausett and Addie Lester that claimed fourth place with a time of 5:26.33.

Jabry Sharp took fourth and Brynn Gordon fifth in the 300 meter hurdles.

Gordon would also place fifth in the long jump. Maleeya Mecham also claimed fifth in the shot put.
