The Steamboat Mountain Reading Series is excited to be hosting a Poetry Reading with David Lee on April 28 at 7:00 pm. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Helper’s Poet Laureate, Nancy Takacs to discuss all the details of the event.

This entertaining poet will amuse all ages with his readings so to have him come to the local area is an honor. “He’s not only very well known in the state of Utah, he actually, use to teach at SUU for many years before he moved to Oregon. But he’s coming back through Utah to give a tour because a lot of what he writes about still is Utah,” stated Takacs. He was also considered to be the Poet Laureate for the United States which was a great honor.

The event will take place at the KT Gallery at 76 South Main Street in Helper. “I’ll tell you his readings are like parties and so if you want to come out and just enjoy, and have a good laugh, and also he makes us laugh and cry at the same time,” said Takacs. This is a free event and is open to the entire public. The poet will also read from his new book, Rusty Barbed Wire-Selected Poems.

This Poetry Reading is being sponsored by The Helper Project, Pezcuh Printing, R&R Partners and KT Gallery.
