The 22nd Annual Cabin Fever Poker Ride will take place on Saturday, April 23 with registration taking place from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Event Coordinator, Robert Pahl to discuss all the details.
“Okay on April 23 registration is form 8:00 am to 11:00 am. At 11:00 am we shut it off because we have to make sure you can complete the trail and get back in time for the drawing. There is open camping out there so you can come the night before and camp out there,” said Pahl. There will be dry camping available in and around the event area. Riders will travel Highway 10 South from Price, traveling 30 miles towards Castle Dale. A sign will indicate San Rafael Swell area, turn left to go east. Travel 22 miles east towards corrals. Registration tent and parking area upon arrival. Signage markers will be posted as early as Friday evening.
You can bring your ATV, UTV or motorcycle for this great family event. “Your hands are $10.00 for the first hand and then $5.00 for every hand after that. Then our prize drawings will start at 3:15 pm or close to 3:15 pm when everyone gets off the trail. We always just go around and chase everybody back in so we can get going there,” said Pahl. It’s important to know that this is a no alcohol ride event. There will be four check-points on the trail for anyone who may need assistance.
“Another thing first this year, is we’re going to have a food truck out there in the afternoon. So if you’re waiting around for the prizes to get done, Getting Our Smoke On out of Orangeville is going to have food truck and he’s going to have his full menu available,” said Pahl. Participants and guests will be able to enjoy a great lunch at a reasonable price.
