
The Carbon tennis team welcomed San Juan to Price a day early on Wednesday for a non-region contest. The Dinos have started to play their best tennis down the stretch when it matters most. In Wednesday’s matches Carbon won four-out-of-five winning the meet 4-1.
Derrick Jorgensen won his 1st singles match in straight sets 6-0 and 6-0, Jorgensen has put together two top finishes in his last two meets. Branden Scovill went through his third singles match dropping two sets 6-1, 6-1.
In 1st doubles action, the team of Alex Callahan and Zac Gregersen won in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 and in 2nd doubles, Garrett Bryner and Nathan Bauduin won in straight sets as well 6-3 and 6-0. The team of Bryner and Bauduin are ranked at No. 24 in the 3A RPI.
Carbon now sits at 3-5 overall and holds a 3-1 record in region play.
Up next is a trip to Richfield for a region match with the Wildcats.
Their final home match of the season will take place on May 3 against Canyon View. Match time is set for 3:30.
