The Price City Culture Connection schedule is set for the summer with numerous performers scheduled to take over Thursday nights in the Peace Garden. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Price City Council Member, Layne Miller to discuss all the details.

The Peace Garden parties will kick-off on June 9 with the band Whiskey Boys who are an acoustic band that plays a broad variety of music such as Devil Makes Three, Tom Petty, Jim Croce, and the Eagles. They will be followed by a local band called Wedge on June 16. “They’re local kids and they are really good. Last time they played the Peace Garden was full of teenagers so get down there early to get your seats or you won’t have a place to sit,” stated Miller. Wedge is made up of members of the Carbon High Jazz Band.

On June 23 the group Slow Ride will take the stage, followed by a crowd favorite on June 30 called Shuffle. “They are so popular. They’re really hard for us to get. They’re performing in Sturgis, they’re starting to perform all over and I was afraid that they might have priced us out of the market, but they felt sorry for us, I think. They enjoy Carbon County and they were thrilled to come,” said Miller. Officials are excited about the July calendar as The Deltaz will take the stage on July 7, with Andrew Lasslo on July 14, the 23rd Army Band on July 21 and the month will finish off with a local favorite, Angela Murray.

The dates for International Days have changed this year and will take place on August 4, 5 and 6. The annual city celebration will kick-off with Culture Connection on Thursday, August 4 with the band Natural Causes. “The last time they were here it rained. They stayed and people danced in the rain, it was fabulous,” stated Miller. They will be followed by Fabled Folk on August 11 and the summer concert series will close with Katie MacLeod on August 18.
