The Emery Spartan track and Field team traveled to Orem over the weekend to face thirty other schools from across the state for the Tiger Trials. The Emery boys finished the day in 20th place and the girl’s finished the day in 30th.

Host team Orem claimed the top spot for the boys followed by Park City, Skyridge, Stansbury and Springville filling out the top five.

Jess Christiansen finished the 800 meters in a time of 2:00.05 which was enough for sixth place. In the high jump Boston Huntington claimed seventh place while Derek Canterbery earned a seventh place finish in the javelin and an eight place finish in the discus.

For the ladies it was once again host school Orem claiming the top spot. Timpanogos, Lone Peak, Mountain Ridge and Lehi rounded out the top five.

Whitley Christensen earned an eighth place finish in the high jump for the Emery ladies.

Up next is the Brigham Young Invitational taking place in Provo, May 6 & 7. Over 60 schools from Utah and surrounding states will take part in this two day meet.

The following weekend will be the Region 12 meet taking place at Canyon View and then it will be back to BYU to wrap up the season with the 3A State Track and Field Championships May 19-20.
