The Lady Dinos and the Lady Spartans had been waiting since their final games on the softball field to find out where they would land when the final RPI was released by the Utah High School Activities Association on Thursday night. Carbon claimed the No.1 overall seed in 3A with Emery coming in at No. 5.

Carbon finished the regular season with a 20-5 overall record and a 6-2 Region 12 mark, which landed them the region title. Being the top seed Carbon will host a first round pod, this Saturday at the Carbon County Softball Complex. Carbon is set to take the field at 12: 30 and will take on the winner of the play-in game between Juan Diego and Delta.  The Lady Dinos have not faced Delta this season but have taken on Juan Diego back on March 15, winning 17-1. If Carbon wins they will face the winner of the other game in Price that day Providence Hall and Grand, Thursday May 12 at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

Emery ended with a 15-7 record going 5-3 in region play. The Lady Spartans will be on the road in Kamas, as South Summit will host the opening round pod. Emery will face No. 12 Ogden in their opening round contest. Ogden ended the season 3-10 and has not faced the Spartans this season. If the Spartans win that contest, they face the winner of host team South Summit or Juab on May 12 in Spanish Fork as well. They didn’t square up with the team from South Summit this season, but did play Juab early in the year in Nephi falling 14-11.
