Lorenzo Joe Serrano, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2022 at Pinnacle Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, doing exactly what he loved: listening to music.

Larry was born on May 3, 1928 in Coyote, New Mexico to Placido and Gorgonia Salazar Serrano.

He lived most of his life in Fruita, Colorado where he loved playing music with his brother and nephews. Larry’s passion was music and would sing and perform for anyone who would listen. Coupled with his singing was his storytelling. Those who know him have stories of their own to tell of Larry’s tall tales.

In his later years, Larry moved to Price, Utah where his developed relationships with some of his children and grandchildren. He dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Larry is survived by children, Dolores Serrano, Springville, Utah, Mickel Serrano, Provo, Utah, Elaine Serrano, Salt Lake City, Utah, Flora Arana, Price, Utah, Leroy Serrano, Provo, Utah, Stephynie Gleave, Antimony, Utah, Sharon Aragon-Diaz, Lucerne Valley, California; many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carmen Valenzuela; brothers, Isidoro, Armando, Elifar and Don; sisters, Ellen, Theresa and Regina.

Funeral Mass, Thursday, May 19, 2022, 10:30 a.m., Sacred Heart Catholic Church (1210 17½ Road, Fruita Colorado 81521) where the Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday morning one hour prior to the Rosary. Committal service, Elmwood Cemetery (1175 17 1/4 Rd, Fruita, Colorado 81521).
