Dona Lyn Martino, age 72, passed away May 26, 2022 in Price.

She was born to Eugene Jay and Donna Marie Gentry Martino at the Carbon Hospital on January 23rd, 1950. It was a cold winter day; but she quickly warmed the hearts of her parents and received the love and attention of an only child until John Tracy was born in 1957 and Robert Lane came along in 1958.

Lyn was a good student and enjoyed school. She was a proud graduate of Carbon High’s Class of 1968. Though she was a resident of Pinnacle Care and Rehabilitation, with the help of good friends, and the caring staff, she was able to attend their most recent class reunion and reunite with friends.

After graduation, Lyn moved to Salt Lake and worked in clerical positions in the insurance, dental, and municipality offices. She retired from Salt Lake County and returned to Price.

Lyn is survived by the nieces and nephews she loved and cherished as her own, Christopher Martino, Gentry Martino, Danielle (Mark) Hardy, Karlee (Max) Champlin, Chad (Hailey) Martino, Colton (Laramie), Martino, Lilian (Gerritt) Bradley, and her great nieces and nephews, Tracelyn Martino, Amara Bradley, Ezra Bradley, Rocca Bradley, Koda Bradley, Quinn Ellis Martino, and Jackson Jay Champlin; brother, Lane (Kim) and Tracy’s wife, Lois.

Lyn shared a special closeness with her only aunt, Shirley (Bill); cousin, VaLair (Laurie) and “nieces and nephews” Berkley, Brooklyn, and Carson, and “great nieces and nephews” Connor, Parker, Reagan, Boston, Staten, Hudson, and Bronx, on the Gentry side of the family.

Lyn traded her signature gold shoes and accessories for silver wings and has once again joined her mother and father, brother, nephew baby boy, and grandparents John and Rose Martino and John and Bernadine Gentry.

Many thanks to Lyn’s friends in Salt Lake and Price, and her Martino Cousins, especially John, for many years of friendship and compassion. Thank you for the lime freezes, diet cokes, in person visits and long distance calls. Lyn loved a good conversation.

The family is grateful for the special care Lyn received during her extended stay at Pinnacle. Many nurses and aides tended to her needs and shared a genuine friendship with her. Sincere thanks to the staff members that went above and beyond. Lyn loved you, and we hope your memories of her bring you peace.
