The USU Extension – Carbon County is offering DIY Craft Workshops throughout the summer months and Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Assistant Professor, Christina Pay to discuss all the details.
The first workshop called Macrame for Beginners was held on June 8 and it was a huge success. The next course being offered is on June 22 called Succulent Fairy Garden which is already full and no longer accepting any registrations. “The Succulent Fairy Garden class filled up really quickly, and while that’s a good thing, for the people who wanted to get in it’s not so good. We have added an additional Succulent Fairy Garden workshop on August 10. So those of you that wanted to get in to the fairy garden class, just go back on https://www.eventbrite.com/ signup for August 10,” stated Pay. All of the workshops will be offered from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the USU Extension Classroom at 751 East 100 North, Suite #1700 in Price.
On July 6 there will be a Paint Night offered for individuals to come paint a cute mural for their home. Then on July 20 is DIY Cotton Rope Basket which will be fun to make as Pay explains, “You can use them for a variety of purposes. It’s about probably a small garbage can size; they are going to make these rope baskets. They’re very decorative but you can store towels in them, you can put blankets in them, you can put books in them. They’re really decorative so you can put it anywhere around the home and I’ve been told again, they’re very easy to make and once you’ve done one, you’ll be able to do more.” Guests can enjoy making a Wooden Door Sign on July 27 and on August 10 there will be Succulent Fairy Garden course. All of the workshops being offered are $30.00 per person/per event and this covers all the supplies needed for each workshop.
