The Price American Legion team faced the 17U team from Helper. Coming off a double header loss from Duchesne to open up the season, Price was looking to bounce back against Helper. Game one would end in a 17-0 loss in four innings and then in the nightcap, Price was able to score just two runs, falling 12-2.

In the first game, the team from Helper got things going early on scoring 13 runs in the first two innings, and putting the Price Raptors in a hole that was just too big to dig out of.

Price used three pitchers, with Aiden Cowley putting in one inning of work giving up one hit and striking out one. Mike Shumway came into the game next, going 2/3 allowing five hits and two earned and then TJ McFarland ended the game with 2 1/3 innings of work surrendering four hits with one earned and struck out three.

For Helper, Preston Martinez, went 1-2 with a pair of RBI’s, Maddux Hart had and RBI and scored four runs.

On the mound, Helper used a pair of hurlers with Tyrus Madsen got the start going two innings striking out four and Jaxon Ingram gave up one hit striking out three.

In game two, it was more of the same as Helper jumped out to a nine run lead, going into the top of the third when TJ McFarland singled to right field to bring home Jarron Dixon. In the next at bat McFarland would score on a wild pitch, that would bring the scoring to an end for Price.

The Raptors threw four pitchers in this game. Cowley, Shumway, Dixon and Brayden Sanderson, who combined for seven hits and 11 earned runs and struck out two.

Michael Vigil and Kanon Childs were on the mound for Helper combining for one run on two hits and struck out six.

Next up for the Raptors, Vernal will come to town on Thursday, June 23 for a double header at the Carbon field. games will start at 5 & 7 p.m..
