After dealing with a variety of health issues including Alzheimer’s disease, Norma Jean Tallerico Netz Snyder passed away on June 27, 2022 at the Good Life Senior Living Care Facility in Price.
Norma was born in Price, Utah to Savario Francisco (Sam) and Marie Antonia Lamanna Tallerico on September 28, 1930. Norma was the second youngest of twelve children. After a very difficult delivery the doctor thought she was stillborn and put her on the floor while he attended to her mother. Her grandfather, her sister Grace and Aunt Mary rescued her and got her breathing. Norma was so little that she slept in a shoebox. Grace would run home from school at lunchtime to check on her and feed her with an eye-dropper as their mother was recovering from the delivery. Norma thought Grace was her mother until she was six. It was a tough start but helped make her who she was.
Norma and her siblings helped with the family business, Master Tailors in Price. There she learned to press clothes which served her later in life.
In 1950, Norma married Gideon (Toby) Netz. They had four children, Silvanna, Rocky, Rusty and Randy. After becoming a single mom, Norma provided for her family by working at her brother Louie’s restaurant and later at Koret of California as a presser.
In 1970, Norma married Homer (Keith) Snyder. She and Keith spent many hours remodeling the house which had been built by Norma’s father and brothers. Norma was the cornerstone of her family. The family always knew they could stop by whenever and have a place to sleep and a meal to eat. She loved to cook for the family with everyone joining in to help and enjoyed the time with the grandkids and great-grandkids. She always went out of her way to help family out and was very generous and caring. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. Everyone regularly gathered at Nonny and Grampa’s. They were two of the most generous people in the world. The grandkids and great-grandkids spent so much time there that it was as if there were extra parents helping to raise them.
Norma was quick to laugh at herself when she realized she had said something that did not quite make sense. She enjoyed sitting on the porch and having coffee in the morning, watching old cowboy movies and making floral arrangements to decorate her home.
Nonny was much loved and will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses: Lyle and Silvanna Netz Bauer (Price, UT.), Rocky and Sherry Netz (Heber, UT.), Rusty and Carolina Netz (Price, UT.) and Randy Netz (Kansas City, MO.); step-son, Keith and wife Elaine Snyder; step- son-in-law, Santo Lupo; her grandkids, Zair and husband John Lincoln, Dylan Bauer, Urijah Gomez, Bronson Netz, Kailas Netz, Cassidy Netz Stevenson, Kennedy Netz and Harrison Netz; step-grandkids, Cody Lupo, Brandy Lupo and Jonee’ Hayward; her great-grandkids, Rocco and Scarlett Lincoln, Hunter, Cole and Scout Stevenson, Bayla Hawley, Everest Netz, Alyssia and Aloura Gomez; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and best-friend Dorothy.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents; all her siblings; her ex-husband, Toby Netz; husband, Keith Snyder; step-children, Kathy Lupo and George Snyder; and step-granddaughter, Jodie Snyder.
Special thanks to the caring staff at Good Life Senior Living, CNS Home Health and Hospice, Rocky Mountain Healthcare, Blue Tern Healthcare and Dr. Sterling Potter.
Norma was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and had many friends in the Price, Utah Congregation. She looked forward to the “new heavens and new earth” promised in the Bible.
“And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:3,4).
A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, 2:00 p.m., Price City Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories of Norma online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net
