Price City’s International Days celebration is set to take place on August 4 through August 6. This annual celebration is a gathering for the entire community to come together for live performances, events, and activities.

Things will kick off the evening of August 4 at the Price City Peace Garden. “Its going to start at 6:00 pm and we’re going to have the colors presented, National Anthem, and then we’re going to have the entertainment. But we’ll have food vendors down there, it’s very popular. We’re going to announce Citizen of the Year, the Junior Grand Marshall, and the Grand Marshall and so it’s a lot of fun. I invite everyone to come,” said Price City Council Member, Rick Davis. The city is still taking nominations for Citizen of the Year and Grand Marshall for one more week, so if you have not made your nominations, you’re encouraged to do so this week. Friday things kick off at the park at noon with several activities. “It’s around noon, the carnival should be up and running and stuff. We have of course the swimming at that wave pool and some activities that will be taking place,” said Davis. Free swim will take place from 12:00 pm till 8:00 pm on both Thursday, August 4 and Friday, August 5. The free swim event is being sponsored by Pinnacle HVAC and Price Boys & Girls Club.

“On Saturday we’re going to kick off at 7:00 am we’re going to have the breakfast and it’s free to the public and that. We will continue to serve the breakfast until we run out of food,” said Davis. Then after the breakfast folks can make their way down to Main Street to watch the parade before returning to the park for all the fun entertainment.

Olson Entertainment has scheduled several musical acts to entertain guests during the entire celebration. On Thursday evening musical entertainment will be held at the Price City Peace Garden with “Give Me Rent” starting the evening off, and they will be followed by “Route 89.” On Friday the entertainment starts off at noon with different local groups and performers taking the stage at the park throughout the afternoon. A pet adoption opportunity that will take place during the afternoon as Laura Olson explains, “We’re going to have a brand-new thing this year.  We are having the animal shelter do an adoption runway, there’s going to be dogs and cats that they are going to be presenting and if you would like to adopt, they’re there.” Finishing the evening with entertainment will be the band “Slow Ride” and a cover band that plays Beach Boys tunes. Saturday there will be more local acts, a game show and musical numbers by several bands. The final performance closing out the celebration will be “Charlie Jenkins.”
