The town of Cleveland is gearing up for another fun year of Cleveland Days on Thursday, July 21 through Saturday, July 23 and everyone in the Castle Country area is invited to attend.

“So Thursday night we’ll be down at our Pioneer Village, O’Ville Pioneer Village down on the east side of town. We’re doing a free hot dog dinner. We ask for people to bring a side, salad, chips, dessert, beans, whatever they would like to bring. But that is free and that will be down there at the Pioneer homes,” said Event Representative, Brydi Sharp. There will be live entertainment form 6:30 to 8:30 with the band Route 10. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit an enjoy the music. The evening will close out with a movie in the park and concessions will be sold by the Youth Council until 10:30 pm.

On Friday, July 22 it’s all about the kids and there are so many fun activities planned for the entire afternoon.  “Kids day in the park has been such a big hit. It’s for ages zero to 12 years old and it’s $2.00 to get in. You get pizza, water, and all the games. There’s going to be a waterslide, a blowup waterslide there, there’s going to be pony rides there, all kinds of games and prizes. That goes from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Come drop your kids off and we’ll take care of them for two hours,” stated Sharp. There will be bike races on the south flat loop race at 5:00 pm. Then at 6:00 pm there will be the Potluck Lamb Fry at the Main Street Park. The cost is $5.00 per plate or $25.00 per immediate family with pot luck dish, there will be a slight increase in price if you do not bring a pot luck dish to share. Live entertainment will take place again with Route 10 and a lip sync competition will be held at 8:00 pm.

On Saturday, July 23 is the big day that is full of family friendly events all day long. “Get up and get you a good run in Saturday morning. The registration starts at 6:00 am, the run will start at 6:30 am. Prizes to the winners, to the top boy and top girl in each age group. It’s $20.00 to register and you’ll get a t-shirt with that entry fee. Its just a little path that we got here in Cleveland Town, it’s a pretty each run, but we got a lot of people registered already for that so it will be fun,” said Sharp. After the run there will be a breakfast in the park at 7:00 am till 8:30 am. The flag raising ceremony will take place at 8:30 am with the kid’s parade at 10:00 am and the grand parade will start at 10:30 am. Once the parade is over folks can head to the park to spend the afternoon enjoying vendors, races, games. At dusk there will be fireworks show scheduled to take place for guests to enjoy.
