The Eastern Utah Cal Ripken 10U All-Star team earned its second consecutive win Wednesday afternoon, easily topping Arizona 11-3 in the third day of the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament in Rhonert Park, Calif.

Looking to build off the momentum from Tuesday’s thrilling win over Southern California, Eastern Utah scored five runs in the first two innings. Holding a 5-2 lead the team added four runs in the top half of the fifth inning to put the game away.

Austin Leonard finished 3-4 at the plate as he notched two RBIs. Jacen Cowley ended 2-4 while also bringing in two runs.

Nate Tatton earned the win on the mound as he pitched four solid innings allowing eight hits and just two earned runs to go along with three strikeouts. Austin Leonard worked two innings of relief as he fanned two batters and allowed one hit.

Now 2-1 in pool play, Eastern Utah will take Thursday off before returning to the field on Friday against Northern California. A win would nearly guarantee the team a spot in Saturday’s single elimination tournament to decided to regional champion.
