Fred Carl Bosone, age 73, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 25, 2022. He was born in Price, Utah to Fred and Louise Bosone alongside his sister, Patricia. After graduating from Carbon High School in 1966, he continued his education at the College of Eastern Utah where he also played his favorite sport; baseball. Fred later earned his bachelor’s degree from Utah State University. In 1971, he married Karen Evatz and together they had three amazing children.
Fred was a member of the Price Elks Lodge, Carbon County Club, and Stella D’America Lodge (Italian American Organization). He loved giving back to the community through his many years as a baseball and basketball coach. Fred worked as a lineman/electrician for Utah Power and Light for 40 years. He then went on to live a free-spirited and relaxed retirement; focusing on the things he loved most, his grandson’s baseball games, basketball games and golf matches, his granddaughter’s dance recitals and soccer games, reading, playing Five Crowns, completing crossword puzzles, watching old western movies and spending time with his family and friends.
Fred will be remembered for his kind heart and amusing personality. He had a contagious smile and nonjudgmental nature. Fred spent many of his years playing softball and golf and always enjoyed the simple things in life. His grandchildren loved his pancakes and homemade bread; his only dislikes were drive-up windows and traffic. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren and loved his wife and family dearly. “Good job, grandpa!”
Fred is survived by the love of his life, Karen; children, Justin, Kacie, and Jyl (Jason Rock); five grandchildren, Madison, Ty, Jackson, Jace, and Elsie; sister, Patricia Bosone Jacobsen; eight nieces and nephews, extended family as well as several lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Bosone; mother, Louise Bosone Chiara.
Fred will be missed for his humorous, calm, and caring personality by many friends and family members.
