The Boys & Girls Club is in their final week of their summer program and are preparing for a new school year. Director, Quakee Tabone stopped by Castle Country Radio to talk about the success of the summer program and share details on how to register for the upcoming school year.

“We have had so much going on this summer, the kids have had a blast. We are finishing up our last week so we’ve got all kinds of field trips they’ve been going on and our juniors are going GEO Cashing. Our littles went rock hunting the other day, it’s been a lot of fun. Our teens got to go to the high jump trampoline park in Spanish Fork that’s new, boy they just loved that,” said Tabone. Overall, officials said this year’s summer program was a huge success for all those that participated.

The club is closing out the summer program but are currently taking registration for the 2022-2023 school year. “We’re taking registrations now; we have kindergarten through twelfth grade spaces available. Our Teen Program focuses on middle school and high school aged kids, and our Juniors Program we split into two groups, its kindergarten through second grade, and third through fifth grade. We take up to 20 kids in each group so get signed up fast,” stated Tabone. Any parents that would like to sign-up their child for the Price Boys & Girls Club may stop by their office at 60 East 100 North in Price.

The fee to sign up your child for the entire school year is very affordable and worth having your child in a safe environment after-school. “It’s $20.00, and that $20.00 fee does cover their entire school year. So they can come everyday after school, Mondays its 1:00 pm till 6:30 pm, and the rest of the week 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, and that $20.00 covers it for the whole school year,” explained Tabone. Club participants can get homework assistance, have an opportunity to do STEM projects, play games and just enjoy a safe and positive atmosphere.

Staff members will be attending a training up north to help them better assist the children in the club. “We have a two-day training in Salt Lake that all of our staff is going to. We’re going to get some really cool new training on how we’re doing our programs, and we’re real excited, it’s going to be great,” said Tabone. The staff members are looking forward to mingling with other clubs in the Salt Lake area.
