
The Lady Spartans started the 2022-2023 season on the road in Roosevelt last week. Emery was back on the road on Tuesday when they traveled to Monroe to face South Sevier. In a match that was played down to the wire in every game, Emery came away with the 3-1 win.
Taking on the defending 3A State Champions last week in a rematch of the semifinal match from last season, Union took the contest from the Spartans with the same 3-1 margin.
Against the South Sevier Rams, the Spartans came out taking the first set 28-26. In the next set, Emery put a little distance between them and the Rams winning it 25-16. South Sevier came back taking the third set 25-16.
Emery took charge in set number four putting away the Rams 26-24 and claiming the 3-1 win.
The Lady Spartans will be back on the floor Thursday when they travel to Delta to face the Rabbits. You need to go back to October of 2020 for the last time these two hooked up, It was part of the State Championships and Emery came away with the 3-0 win.
Emery will be back home in Castle Dale on Thursday Aug. 25 when they welcome Duchesne to the Spartan Center. Game time is set for 6:30
