The Lady Spartans soccer club started the season on the right foot with a 3-0 victory at home last Thursday over Beaver, and then suffered their first loss of the season the next day at the hands of the Manti Templars. Tuesday, they were on the road once again this time traveling to Millard where the Spartans were handed a 6-0 loss, putting them at 1-2 in the young season.

Millard is one of the top teams in 2A, in fact last year they lost to eventual State Champion Waterford Academy in the semi-finals. The Eagles are now 3-0 and have been feasting on 3A this year with wins under their belt against South Summit and Richfield.

The Eagles jumped out in the first half putting up four goals and carrying that momentum into the second half  where they found the back of the net two more times.

Kara Camp led the way for Millard with four goals, while Devin Roper and Emma Koyle each added one.

The Lady Spartans will be back on the field Wednesday when they travel to American Fork to face American Heritage.

The Spartans will be back on the field in Castle Dale next Tuesday, August 23, when they will face Delta. Game time is set for 3:30.
