
The Lady Dinos soccer club have been hitting the field since early August, and on Thursday they were in Grantsville to face the Cowboys. Carbon is finishing off their non-region schedule and against Grantsville got on the scoreboard early and held on taking the 3-2 win on the road.
Carbon sits at 4-2 early on in the season. So far they have faced the Union Cougars, who are never an easy opponent, taking them to overtime but still coming away with the 4-2 victory. Next for the Lady Dinos was a trip to Vernal to face 5A Uintah, in the second game on back-to-back days Carbon struggled to find any offense and was handed a 4-0 loss.
Traveling to Grantsville the Dinos were able to put the loss to Uintah behind them as they came out, led by Kacie Brady who had a pair of goals, and Beverly Lancaster who added one more.
The contest was tied in the first half at 1-1, the Dinos needed help from Emma Flemmett to keep Grantsville from finding the back of the net and she answered with 11 saves securing the 3-2 win.
The Dinos still have two more games on their non-region slate before starting league play on Aug. 30, when Canyon View comes to Price. Two days later on Sept. 1 we will get our first look at the RPI from The Utah High School Activities Association.
Carbon is back on the field Tuesday when they will face North Sanpete at home. game time is set for 4 p.m., on Thursday they travel to Nephi to face the Juab Wasps.
