Carbon High’s volleyball team opened up their 2022-2023 campaign last week when Juab to visit on Tuesday with Carbon taking the 3-1 win. On Thursday, they were back in front of the home crowd welcoming Duchesne to the gym. Against the Eagles, the Dinos took charge early and finished them off in straight sets, 3-0.

The Lady Dinos jumped out in set number one making quick work of Duchesne 25-14. The Eagles came out fighting in set number two, which was a little closer, however the Dinos came up with the 25-21 win. Carbon would then shut the door in set three with a final of 25-14.

Madi Orth came up with 11 kills in the match Taylor Secor added seven and Dani Jensen seven as well to go along with her eight digs. Jenna Richards and Makayla Pugliese each collected five digs and Sav Hurst had 33 assists.

Carbon has a trio of non-conference games plus the Dixie Tournament to get through before it opens region play on September 13.  They will head to Dixie this weekend and then will face North Summit and North Sanpete on the road.

Tuesday they travel to Roosevelt to face Union. The Lady Dinos will not be on their home court until Sept. 20 when they welcome the Canyon View Falcons.
