August has been a tough month for the Emery Lady Spartan soccer team. Following the opening season win over Beaver, the Spartans have lost their last four, the most recent of which was on last Friday when they fell to the Juab Wasps 2-0 on the road.
Since the opener with Beaver, Emery has been on the road for all of their games. After the loss to Millard on Aug. 16, they had to travel to American Fork to face American Heritage Academy which ended in a 3-2 loss and then on Friday they were in Nephi to face the Wasps.
Jordan Cowan and Addison Hyatt had goals in the win for Juab, and Callie Dieffenbacher earned the win between the pipes.
The Lady Spartans have three non-region games left before they take on their first conference opponent, when Grand comes to Castle Dale on September 1, this will also mark the first time we will see the Utah High School Activities Association release of the RPI rankings for soccer.
The remaining non- region schedule for Emery consists of a road game in Roosevelt to take on Union and a home game against South Sevier.
Up first is a meeting with the 4-1 Delta Rabbits at home on Tuesday, game time is set for 3:30.
