Lady Dinos tennis has been busy the last week with school starting up and traveling to Vernal to face Uintah and then returning home to begin region play on Aug. 23 against Canyon View.  The match against 5A Uintah did not go Carbon’s way as they suffered a 4-1 loss. facing off against Canyon View the Dinos took charge on their home courts winning 4-1.

In the matches with Uintah, Lindsey Snow was the only Lady Dino to register a win, as she defeated Maurlee Luck, 7-5 and 6-1. In second singles Lizzy Blackburn took Annalese Baumgardner to a 7-5 first set, but Baumgardner rallied back to take set two 6-3.

The contest against Canyon View was more to the Dinos liking, as Snow once again took her first singles match-up with Andrea Bezzan 6-0 and 6-1. Blackburn took her match with Violeta Gonzalez by the same 6-0, 6-1 score. Ella Anderson in third singles took care of Kennedy Rigby, 6-1 and 6-2.

Carbon’s Audrey Hatch and Isadora Netto fell to Amy Lee and Aliyah Hathaway 7-5, 6-2 in the first doubles match. And second doubles team Hannah Luddington and Lyndie Richardson took care of business in three sets 3-6, 6-1 and 6-1.

Carbon hits the court again on Thursday Aug. 25 in Emery and then another match at home on Aug. 26.
