
The Region 12 golf season continued with a team exhibition Thursday afternoon in Spanish Fork at the Oaks.
Richfield continued to display its dominance at the top of the team leaderboard as they ended with a team score of 309. Carbon came in second with a total of 318, well ahead of third place Grand’s 352. Canyon View edged out Emery for fourth place with a 366, while the Spartans shot a 371.
While the team scores will not count towards the final stroke tally for the division, each competing individual score will play a factor at season’s end.
Bode Salas again paced the Dinos has ended with a 72, finishing two-strokes ahead of Grand’s Wyatt Toney. Richfield’s Jaygen Mullen was third with a 75, followed by teammates Keaton Anderson and Pace Mullen, who shot a 76 and 77 respectively.
The Dinos received a stellar individual performance from Rydge Butler who ended with an 80, finishing second on the team. Kyler Clark fired an 81 and Cole Callahan registered the fourth score with an 85.
Emery’s low score came courtesy of Kade Larsen, who rounded out the day with an 89. Joey Leonard was right behind with a 90 followed by Dempsey Toomer’s 95. The Spartans had three others shoot a 97 to tie for the fourth team score.
With three meets now in the books the teams will shift focus to Wednesday’s Region 12 meet at Cove View, the home course of the Richfield Wildcats. The competition will be the first of three visits to Cove View this season.
