The Lady Spartans have been taking it easy since their return from the St. George tournament with only one game scheduled this week. On Thursday they welcomed South Summit to the Spartan Center. This was only the second time playing in front of the home crowd and Emery did not disappoint taking a three sets to one win over the Wildcats.

After the win at home over Duchesne last Thursday, the Lady Spartans traveled to St. George for the Fly High Tournament going 2-4.  Emery has spent most of the non-region schedule away from Castle Dale. They will make up for that with four of their next six at home.

Emery came out against the Wildcats and claimed a win in the first set 25-22, all four sets were actually very close as the Lady Spartans took set two 25-19. South Summit’s only win came in set three which was still hotly contested, but the Wildcats got the better of the Spartans 26-24. Emery finished the match off taking the fourth set 25-20 and taking the 3-1 win.

Emery sits at 5-6 over all and has a pair of home games next week.

They will face Manti on Tuesday and then welcome in the Juab Wasps on Thursday. Last season Emery and Manti faced off twice early in the season with Manti taking the win in  both meetings.

Emery and Juab also squared up twice last year, once in the pre-season and then again at the Richfield Tournament, with Emery taking both matches.

The contests with Manti on Tuesday and Juab on Thursday are set to begin at 6:30 p.m..
