The Lady Dinos were looking to get back on the soccer field after Tuesday’s loss to Canyon View in their Region 12 opener, and they only had to wait a couple of days. On Thursday the Richfield Wildcats came to Price and the Dinos got in to the win column in league play with a 3-1 victory.
Carbon suffered a 4-1 setback against Canyon View earlier in the week after making it through the pre-season portion of their schedule with a record of 5-2-1. Canyon View is ranked as the No. 3 school in 3A and looks to be tough down the stretch run to the playoffs in October. The Dinos currently hold the No. 6 spot and Richfield is sitting at No. 8.
Against the Wildcats, the Dinos jumped out taking a 2-0 lead in to the half. Richfield managed to put one in the back of the net and the Dinos answered back pushing the final score to 3-1 with Carbon getting the win.
Ada Bradford found the back of the net for the Dinos and chipped in with an assist. Kinley Cowdell and Amiah Timothy added the other goals in the contest. Beverly Lancaster and Shalyce Rahaula each had an assist in the win. Emma Flemmet logged eight saves as well.
Up next for the Dinos is the one they circle every year the first of two meetings with the Emery Spartans.
The game will take place at Carbon High at 4 p.m..
