
Coming off a region opening win over Grand, the Lady Spartans were looking to keep the momentum going on Tuesday when the Richfield Wildcats came to Castle Dale. Unfortunately, that would not be the case as Richfield put up three goals in the first and one in the second taking the 4-2 win.
Emery sits at 3-7 overall and 1-1 in Region 12 play after the loss, holding on to the No. 14 spot in the RPI for 3A. The Wildcats, on the other hand, sit at 7-3 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Richfield jumped out in the first half of play quickly putting up three goals before halftime. Emery kept it competitive finding the back of the net twice cutting into the Wildcats lead by the half 3-2.
The second half was all about Richfield, as they added one more goal, but also kept Emery out of the net shutting out the Lady Spartans in the second half, taking the 4-2 win.
A pair of senior’s got the Emery Spartans on the board. Beka Barnett scored both goals fro Emery , bringing her season total to three. BreElle Parkins had the assist on both of Barnett’s goals.
Emery is celebrating Homecoming Week and the Lady Spartans will travel to Price to face the No. 6 ranked Dinos.
