This is the second to last Helper Saturday Vibes of the summer and they are focusing it all on showing appreciation for all First Responders. The event is set to take place on Helper’s Historic Main Street on Saturday, September 10 at 5:00 pm. Castle Country Radio was able to sit down with Rachel Barbee to discuss all the details.
“This is our First Responders appreciation themed event. So we’re really excited to have you all come out, support our first responders. We’re going to have the climbing wall provided by the National Guard. There will be local police on seen, feel free to go up to them, give them some guff and chat with them a bit about what they’re doing in the community,” stated Barbee. This is a great way to show your appreciation and honor the individuals who act quickly when there’s an emergency.
The live entertainment will begin promptly at 5:00 pm at the Main Street Park Stage. “So we’ve got Folk Hogan, they are a lively six piece band. They’ve got an accordion, madalion, banjos, they’re a really fun, fun band. They’re going to be doing a mix of folk and punk, so that should be really exciting to see, there are open stage band. Then we’ll be closing out the night with The Swinging Lights, they do Americana and rock. They are playing Utah centric songs, for Utahans, as Utahans,” explained Barbee. The closing band will take the stage from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
There will be food vendors available for guests to enjoy. “We got a lot of our favorites, that we’ve had throughout the season. Smokin Roadside Grill will there with that delicious barbeque that you guys all love. We’ve missed them a couple of times but we’re excited to have them back. Then we’re also going to have all the taco trucks and everything you’ve come to love,” said Barbee. There will be many activities for the children to enjoy like the bouncy houses.
Helper Saturday Vibes would not be possible without their many sponsors, especially The Helper Project as Ann Jespersen explains, “We are really pleased, we met Kim Kuehn several years ago, we understood that she did a remarkable job in Park City. It is really very clear we don’t want to be Park City, we want to be Helper. Helper has its own unique personality, and it’s own unique sense of growth, and the thing I really love about Helper Vibes is they’re really respecting that. Each year that they do this, we listen to the community, we try to figure out what the community needs are so that we can benefit the entire community. That’s what our hope is with The Helper Project in supporting Helper Vibes, those are our goals.” The Helper Vibes is currently conducting a public survey on their website and at the event to get feedback from community members. If you have a few minutes please take the survey.
