The Carbon Dinos have accumulated a pre-season record of 2-3 after Friday nights loss to Emery. Monday, the Utah High School Activities Association released the initial RPI standing landing the Dinos in the No.12.

Starting out the season with wins over Hillcrest and Grand, Carbon dropped it’s next two games with Ogden and Emery putting them at a 2-2 record headed into the region opener in Manti on Friday.

Three undefeated teams Grantsville, Morgan and Juab make-up the top three. Grantsville is the defending 3A State Champions and Juab lost to Morgan in the semi-finals. Morgan is the runner-up from last season.

Ben Lomond and Region 12 member Richfield round out the top five.

Carbon will look to improve on its standing in the RPI when they travel to No. 9 Manti. Like the Dinos, Manti won their first two games of the season against Union and Delta, but since then they have lost to Grantsville, Juan Diego and most recently Morgan.

The Dinos travel to Manti on Friday in a game that you can listen to on KRPX 95.3 The Peak, starting at 6:30 with the Landon’s Diesel Service Pre-game show. Kick-of is set for 7.
