Although we are just finishing up the summer months, it’s now time to start thinking about entering a tree into the 2022 CJC Christmas Tree Regalia. Castle Country Radio sat down with Chair of the Friends of CJC, Alycia Sandoval to discuss all the details.

“This is our main fundraiser that we do have for the Children’s Justice Center. We start with Christmas Tree Regalia the money goes back towards the center to help support the kids, victims, people coming through with their families. The regalia is what we focus on, brings the most money that way we can help them in the end,” said Sandoval. This event is beneficial in helping the center with operational costs.

The event the last two years has been hosted downtown at the local businesses and folks seem to really like that setup. “We had just a little over 50, probably like 53 Christmas trees last year that we had in the stores downtown and they’re beautiful. It was so nice to see all of the people coming through to see the Christmas trees, bidding process, things like that, so it’s always a good thing,” stated Sandoval. Currently, event organizers have 35 trees signed up for this year. So if an individual, family, business or civic group would like to display a Christmas tree now is the time to start putting ideas together. Groups will have November 3 through November 7 to decorate their trees and the regalia itself will kick off on November 10 and run through December 3.

The bidding process will be similar to what it was last year. “We’ve made it easier where we use an app that you can see the trees, see numerous photos, you can put in a bid, and you can see the current live bids on where the highest is. That way you always know where you’re coming in at if you’re wanting to win a tree,” explained Sandoval. If a bidding war ensues at the closing, a live online auction will take place to determine the winning bid. Once the app is up and going there will be a link listed on the CJC social media pages.

The Christmas Shoppe with be open again this year for guests to purchase decorations and gift items. “This year the Christmas Shoppe will be at the old Sears building and it will be open Thursday through Saturday, 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, starting November 10,” said Sandoval.
