The Lady Dinos have hit the turn in the region season having played every team once and coming away with a 3-1 record, with the only loss coming at the hands of Canyon View, the No. 2 team in 3A. On Tuesday they traveled to Moab to face Grand bringing back a 6-0 win.
The Dinos sit at 8-3-1 overall and hold the No. 6 spot in the Utah High School Activities Association RPI rankings. The rankings will be removed soon but will be updated until the final RPI is released on October 5, along with the bracket for the State Championships.
The game with Grand was all Dinos all the time with Carbon jumping out to a 5-0 lead at the half . In the second half it was more of the same as Carbon added one more and closed the book on the Red Devils.
A new name popped up in the stat line with a goal as Emma Flemmet knocked one through the back of the net as the goalie got a chance to play some offense. Bailey Johnson put a pair between the pipes and also added an assist. Kinley Cowdell had a goal and two assists and Beverly Lancaster and Shalyce Rahaula each added one goal and one assist in the Carbon rout.
The Lady Dinos will head out on the road as they will travel to Cedar City on Thursday to face Canyon View for the final time in the regular season.
Carbon will not play on their home field again until Sept. 29, when they will face Grand in the final regular season game.
