Hayden Merrill Hunter was born in Spring Canyon, Utah on December 26, 1933; he left us on September 12, 2022 at the age of 88.

He grew up in Spring Canyon until leaving for the Navy in 1953 where he served his country during the Korean War. While in the military he received training as an electrician and continued as an electrician until retiring. When Hayden returned from the military, he married Vodis Marie Tryon in 1959, and they were married until her death in 2014.

Hayden is survived by his son Mark (Angie) Hunter; daughter, Paula Smith; grandsons, Hayden Smith, George Hunter, and Nicholas Hunter.

He is preceded in death by parents, William Alvin Hunter, Gladys Eva Hunter (born Tatton); siblings, William Clyde Hunter, Quentin Harold Hunter, Betty Jean Evatz, Thusnelda Gladys Mills, Wilma Rae Watson, Barbara Carol Olsen.

The family wants to express their sincere appreciation to the nurses and employees of CNS and to the staff of Good Life Senior Living in Elmo for their outstanding care and compassion.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be sent to the Children’s Service Society of Utah 655 E. 4500 S., Ste 200, Salt Lake City, UT 84107.
