Region 12 made it’s way to the Cove View Golf Course for the Region Championship on Wednesday. The Spartans entered the day trailing Grand by two strokes and turned in an incredible performance making up 24 strokes and finishing the regular season in third place behind Carbon and Richfield.
Richfield claimed the top spot on their home course turning in a 303 and beating second place Carbon by five strokes. Emery with 328 was followed by Canyon View in fourth with 348 and Grand at 352 finished in fifth.
Joey Leonard was the top finisher for the Spartans turning in a 77. Kade Larsen and his 81 was followed by Dempsey Toomer (85) Joseph Behling (85) made up the remainder of the Spartans score.
Carbon’s Bode Salas claimed the top spot overall followed by Keaton Anderson from Richfield finished in second. Wyatt Toney from Grand and the duo of Jaysen Mullen and Pace Mullen from Richfield made up the rest of the top five.
Up next for Emery and the rest of 3A will be the State Championships on Oct. 5-6, back on the Cove View course in Richfield.
