The Lady Spartan volleyball squad went in to their game with Richfield riding a three game win streak. Richfield on the other hand entered the game on a four game win streak and when the dust settled the Wildcats would claim their fifth win in a row, taking a 3-1 win over Emery.

Emery had compiled wins against Canyon View, Carbon and Grand in their last three outings. Next week the only thing on the schedule is a return trip to Richfield for the Sevier Valley Tournament. Last year they faced teams from Rich, San Juan, South Sevier, Richfield, and Juab, finishing with a perfect 5-0 record.

Richfield jumped out taking a 25-19 win in set number one. The Spartans got close in set two pushing the Wildcats, but still taking a 26-24 loss. Emery would break through in set three, taking a 25-20 win, but  dropped the fourth and final set 25-15.

The Spartans are sitting at 9-9 overall and 3-2 in Region 12 play, and are No.14 in the RPI.

After coming home from the tournament next week, the Spartans will have just three game left in the regular season.

Canyon View will be at the Spartan Center on Tuesday Oct. 11 for Senior Night.

Emery will then be on the road for the final two games.

They will travel to Carbon on Oct. 12 and then end the season on the road in Moab Oct.18, when they face Grand.
