A straight set victory on Tuesday night by the Lady Spartans gets them ready for their meeting Wednesday night with the Dinos in Price. The Canyon View Falcons were in town for the final regular season meeting between theses two teams and Emery wasted no time dispatching the Falcons in straight sets.

In the first meeting between the two Region 12 members back in September, Emery claimed a 3-2 victory in Cedar City. This time around, the game took place at the Spartan Center in Castle Dale on Senior Night for Emery. On a night when they honored their seniors they were also prepared for the Falcons.

Emery came out and took the first set 25-17. The first set must have taken something out of the Falcons, as the Spartans were able to take set two 25-15. In what would be the final set The Lady Spartans had a little more of a battle on their hands but still ended up with the 25-22 victory in three sets.

The Spartans now sit at 11-13 overall and hold a 4-2 record in region play. The RPI rankings have been removed and will not appear until next Wednesday at 9 a.m., also at that time the bracket for the 3A State Championships will be released.

Tonight they will be in Price to face the Carbon Dinos. Emery pulled off the upset in the first region meeting on Sept. 22, 3-1. After that they will travel to Moab on Tuesday to face Grand to close out the regular season.

The contest with Carbon is set to begin at 6:30.
