Howard Lamont Arnold, age 90, passed away from natural causes on October 11, 2022. He was born February 25, 1932, to Glyndwr and Mae Johnson Arnold in Lawrence, Utah. He married Marylin Beach on June 22, 1951 in the Manti temple, and they were blessed to have 71 years together. They are the parents of five sons: Kim (Cynthia), Don (Brigitte), Brent (Melinda), Stuart (Annette), Bruce (Annette), and a Norwegian son Torbjørn Ånestad (Julie). A German family and a Japanese family also claimed him as their father and grandfather.
Lamont earned degrees from Brigham Young University, Oregon State University, and Utah State University. He taught life sciences at the College of Eastern Utah for 36 years and touched many lives.
He served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including stake mission leader and bishop. He and Marilyn served a two-year mission in the Germany Munich mission from 2003-2005. He was also an ordinance worker in the Manti temple for 16 years.
Lamont was a proud grandfather to his 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. He loved joking with his grandkids and stayed very involved in all of their lives. He had a big heart and was generous with all he had. Many people ate at his table, spent time under his roof, and called it home.
He was calm, pleasant to be around, never complained, and mastered the art of self-control. He is dearly loved and will be sorely missed.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at 11:00 in the Price LDS YSA/Price Fifth Chapel, located at 545 East 400 North.
