The Region 12 cross country championship meet was held at the Carbon Country Club on Wednesday. All the schools in the region were represented and when it was all over the Carbon girls behind Rozlyn Stowe and her first place finish grabbed the top spot earning the league championship. The boys team finished the day in second place.

Grand finished the day in the second spot on the ladies side behind Carbon. Canyon View, Emery and Richfield made up the rest of the field.

Over all it was Stowe with the top finish followed by Cadance Kasprick and Ainsleigh Kasprick of Grand, Lydia Forsyth of Canyon View and Addie Hurst of Emery made up the top five.

Stowe once again grabbed a first place finish turning in a time of 18:09.4, over 30 seconds faster than Grand’s Kasprick who crossed the finish line in second with a time of 18:43.1. Ambree Jones, Lindsie Fausett, Sophie Taylor and Beverly Lancaster rounded out the top five Dinos finishers.

Canyon View took the top spot on the boys side, with Carbon grabbing second place. Emery, Richfield and Grand rounded out the remainder of the region field.

Richard Crane of Richfield earned the top finish. Camdon Larsen of Emery, Thomas Daniels of Canyon View, Braxton Ware and Garrett Black of Carbon made up the top five.

Ware was the top finisher for Carbon with a fourth place finish in a time of 16:345.6. Black was just behind him at 16:34.9. Easton Humes, Logan McEvoy and Sean Stomness made up the rest of the top Carbon racers.

Up next is the State Championships that will be held at the Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake on October 25.
