The Spartan cross country team along with every other team from Region 12 descended on the Carbon Country Club for the final conference meet of the season. For the boys it was a third place finish and the girls ended the day in fourth.
Canyon View finished the day in the top spot for the boys followed by Carbon. Emery landed in third with Richfield and Grand making up the region field.
Camdon Larsen finished in second overall with a time of 16:20.0 for the Emery boys just off the pace of Richfield’s Richard Crane who earned a first place finish with a time of 15:52.6. Thomas Daniels of Canyon View and Braxton Ware and Garrett Black both of Carbon made up the rest of the top five.
After Larsen, Jack Christiansen, Merritt Meccariello, Dillon Larsen and Mason Stewart rounded out the top finishers for the Emery Spartans.
The Lady Dinos of Carbon earned the top finish in the team totals. Grand and Canyon View were next with Emery ending in fourth followed by Richfield.
Rozlyn Stowe of Carbon grabbed the girls top individual finish followed by Cadence Kasprick and Ainsleigh Kasprick, both of Grand, and Lydia Forsyth of Canyon View. Emery’s Addie Hurst finished in fifth.
After Addie Hurst, Carlie Hurst, Kallee Cook, Rileigh Meccariello and Kallee Lake were the top finishers for the Lady Spartans.
Emery will now head to the State Championships that will be held at the Regional Sports Complex in Salt Lake on Tuesday.
