The cross country season came to an end for the Spartans on Tuesday at the Regional Sports Complex in Salt Lake the home for this years State Championships. After a full day of racing the Emery boys landed a sixth place finish overall in 3A.
Top spot on the boys side went to the team from Ogden, Canyon View finished the day in second. Carbon, Morgan and Union rounded out the top five.
Richard Crane of Richfield grabbed top honors in the individual category turning in his first place time of 15:57.5, 14 seconds ahead of second place Carter Parson of Ogden. Jack Blodgett also of Ogden claimed third with Josh Nicolaides and EJ Lee both of Morgan taking fourth and fifth respectively.
Camdon Larsen was just outside of the top five in sixth place finishing just five seconds behind Lee. Jack Christiansen (29), Merritt Meccariello (30), Dillan Larsen (44) and Mason Hurdsman (49) made up Emery’s top five.
For the girls team, only two members competed, Addie Hurst who finished in 10th, and Carlie Hurst ended her day in 44th.
The team win for the girls went to Carbon, followed by Grand and Canyon View, which meant that the top three teams in 3A came from Region 12. Ogden and Morgan made up the remainder of the top five.
Individually it was Carbon’s Rozlyn Stowe taking the top honor, followed by Jaylie Jenkins of Union. Cadence Kasprick of Grand, Lydia Forsyth of Canyon View and Judge Memorial’s Corrine Higgins completed the top five.
