Our loving father, brother, uncle, and friend, Jack Pierce, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on October 30, 2022 in Price, Utah. He was born April 5, 1945 to Jack and Tilly Pierce in Maywood, California. He was always socializing and making us laugh.
Jack enjoyed surfing, golfing, shooting, fishing, and painting. He enjoyed working in construction and building anything he could get his hands on. He loved to watch the sun come up while drinking his coffee, talking to his wife in heaven, and feeding the hummingbirds. He enjoyed watching western movies and being outdoors.
Jack was quite the character. For his daughter Amy’s first Halloween, he and his wife Janice decided to put her in a pumpkin with candy stuffed around her. She was such a small baby they had to put towels underneath her so she wouldn’t sink into the pumpkin. From that day on, Amy was always Dad’s “punkin.”
Jack taught his nieces and nephews how to ski, fish, drive a boat, build a deck, and so much more. He taught his daughter how to ride a bike and fly a kite. He loved spending time with his grand dogs, Jax and Zeus. He would always call them his “good for nothing flea catchers.” He was always filming family events and capturing the moment. He always kicked Amy’s butt at Monopoly and whenever she would win, he would say she “cheated.”
He has touched the lives and hearts of many by supporting us, cheering us on and teaching us everything we know. You may be gone but will never be forgotten. May you rest in peace, and always be in our hearts. We love you.
Dad, I love you more than you will ever know. My heart is hurting, but I will be okay. I have you and mom watching over me. Thank you for always being there for me and raising me to be the woman I am today. You taught me how to be strong, independent, fierce, and to always be the bigger person. I hope I make you and mom proud. I couldn’t ask for better guardian angels. Rest easy in heaven – Punkin.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Amy Lynn Clark; son, Jeffrey Hayden Pierce; sister, Vicki Howard.
Preceded in death by his wife, Janice Lynn Pierce; and his parents, Jack and Tilly Pierce.
