The Dinos swim teams traveled to Moab to take part in a meet put on by Grand County High School. Last week in Castle Dale, Carbon got back in the water with the girls taking the top spot and the boys finishing in third. This go round, both teams would claim second place finishes.

After their first place finish in Castle Dale last week, the Lady Dinos would finish behind Logan High School and ahead of host school Grand, but that doesn’t mean that Carbon didn’t have it’s share of top finishers.

Alyssa Chamberlain grabbed the top spot in the 200 yard free with a time of 2:25.81, she would later join team mates Mia Crompton, Hadley Bower and Ada Braford to take the 200 yard free relay. Lisa King earned a top finish in the 50 yard free with 28.70 and Bower would end right behind her in second. It was Carbon with first, second and third place  finishes in the 100 yard free, with Crompton turning in a time of 1:02.72, followed by King and Bower in third. Other top finishers were Evie Halk and Jennacie Jeffery who finished in third place in the 200 yard free and 100 yard breast stroke respectively.

The Carbon boys ended the day right behind Logan for second place. Host Grand County finished in third.

Gabe Ibanez was up to his old tricks , grabbing first place finishes in the 50 yard free (24.05) and 100 yard free (52.73). The Dino relay team of Nathn Engar, Ian Kranendonk, Jackson Thayn and Cameron Jones finished in first place with a time of 1:47.93 in the 200 yard free. Engar also grabbed a third place in the 100 yard back stroke. Thayn had two third place finishes as well in the 100 yard breast stroke and 200 yard IM and Cameron Jones earned the day with a pair of third place finishes in the 200 yard free and the 500 yard free. Leland Kespel ended the 200 yard free with a second place finish and Spencer Tullis had a third place finish in the 50 yard free.
