Gary (Hunkie) Max Christman, age 76, passed away at home on November 11, 2022 after a long illness with COPD.

He was born August 30, 1946 at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California to Max F. and Alma Irene Lovins Christman.

Gary loved stock car racing, NASCAR, building dune and baja buggies, camping and fishing.  Gary was longtime resident of Carbon County and a graduate of Carbon High School.  He was a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America, Kaiser Steel Local #9958.  Gary honorably served his country in the US Army for two years. On May 30, 1975, he married Judy Rowan in Springville, Utah.

Gary is survived by his wife, Judy Christman, Wellington; son, Rudy (Bobbie) Brailsford, Springville; daughters, Tiffany Fisher, Wellington, Teri Rutherford, Price; six grandchildren, Nikki, Brett, Ashley, Grey, Jace and Abby; and two great-grandchildren, Jericho and Delilah.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sharon Ann Christman; and his beloved son-in-law, Mark Rutherford.

The family would like to thank the Wellington City Police Department and the local emergency personnel for the care they provided Gary and his family.

Graveside service, Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at the Price City Cemetery.  Family will receive friends at Mitchell Funeral Home Wednesday from 1:00-1:45 p.m.  Arrangements entrusted to Mitchell Funeral Home of Price and Huntington where friends are always welcome daily and may share memories online at www.mitchellfuneralhome.net.
