Carbon wrestling was back at it on Thursday night when they faced the Duchesne Eagles in the gym at Carbon High. The Dinos were victorious in eight out of the 14 matches on the evening, taking the meet 45-28.

Second year coach Trent Greenhalgh was a guest recently on KOAL’s Drive Time Sports and talked about the pre-season programs and the kids “buying in” to them.

“We did what we call open mat, and we consistently had 10-12 guys in the room, so I’m really excited for that. It just shows buy in, in my opinion, hey we’re doing the right thing. It’s been good, I’m excited for it.”

Kaden Winterton won his match at 106 by forfeit, but took a loss in an exhibition match out of his weight class against a bigger opponent. Other wins for the Dinos came from Gunnar Bennett, Trevor Jones, Tanner Greenhalgh, Ashtun Guymon, Colin Fausett, Issac Robinson and Johnathan Jewkes.

This weekend Carbon will travel to Salem for the Skyhawk Showdown.

They will return home for next weekend’s Dave Smith Memorial on the 9th and the 10th.
