Emery Caring for Kids was able to complete all it’s Christmas Kits for the Christmas break thanks to the generous donations from the community. Coordinator, Lindsey Oman spoke over the telephone with Castle Country Radio to share all the details.

“The community just keeps on rallying, and we get all these amazing donations, and all these youth groups, and families, and schools, and church groups, and just all these amazing people rally together and donate so much that we have been able to have all of our Fall Kits donated, our Thanksgiving Kits donated, all of our Christmas Kits donated and enough food to last till February. So we are just so extremely grateful for all these kind and generous people who have stepped up and allowed us to have all these amazing donations contributed to our program,” stated Oman. Each holiday break with the Emery School District means bigger food kits are needed to supply the children, this is on top of regular weekend kits that are supplied before and after the breaks.

“So Emery Caring for Kids is a program that creates food kits for children during the weekend that may need food for just as a supplement or that just maybe going without that contains breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks for the weekend and also for holiday breaks,” explained Oman. This an anonymous program so the organization works with the school counselors only and no names are given, just a number of kits that are needed at each of the elementary schools.

There are many ways to help the organization, you can volunteer to help pack and deliver the kits, make a food donation or give a monetary contribution. “So there’s different ways, you can donate items which we have drop-offs in many different locations, which you can check our Facebook for. You can do monetary donations; you can stop at Eastern Utah Community Credit Union and the account is under Emery Caring for Kids. We also have Venmo, which is Emery Caring for Kids, or you can contact me through messenger on Facebook and I can give you other information as to which ways you can help,” said Oman.

The organization appreciates the help from the community and hopes that everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
