The first annual Renaissance Festival was held last year in May and it turned out to be a huge success. Event Director, Megan Marshall is looking for Planning Committee Members to help organize the 2023 festival to be held again this year in Price. She took time to speak over the telephone with Castle Country Radio to recruit individuals in the community to help plan another successful festival.

“We had a much bigger turnout than I think anyone could have anticipated and nothing but amazing, positive, response from the community, from all of the tourists that came in for it, all the vendors that traveled from out of the area, it was just spectacular all the way around,” said Marshall. 2022 was the first year that the event was ever held and the planning process was done in just a few short months so imagine how this year will go with more time to plan and more committee members getting involved.

“Last year it was me and a few really dedicated friends and family with about two months’ notice that we made the Renaissance Festival happen. So this time we want to go bigger, we want to go better, and we know that there’s a lot of really talented, intelligent, committed, community members out there that might want to be a part of the planning process,” explained Marshall. This would include individuals to assist with marketing, concessions, entertainment, vendors, activities, children’s events and other duties too.

The Event Director hopes by starting the planning process earlier it will result in a remarkable festival for 2023. “So when you have city council members and more community members just the entire day saying, next year bigger and better, bigger, bigger, bigger – that’s what we’re going for so we definitely need all hands on deck. We’re getting the planning process started a lot sooner so that we can really make this a spectacular annual event,” said Marshall. Coming up with a solid event strategy will ensure everything runs well.

If you would like to be a part of this year’s festival you can contact Marshall to volunteer. “We’re gathering community members as we speak, adding people to the email list of whom would ever like to help participate, we’ll arrange an initial strategy meeting. So the best way is to reach out to me directly, my phone number is (435) 650-0698. I’m putting it out there to the world because I’m that committed to it, feel free to call or text me, we’ll get you on the list,” said Marshall.
