The Carbon Dinos entered Wednesday night’s game with American Leadership Academy sitting on a five game losing streak that began back on December 2. It took all 32 minutes for the Dinos to get back in the win column 56-55.

The American Leadership Eagles entered the game with the Dinos going 2-1 in their last three but sitting at 9-5 overall. The Eagles play in Region 15 and are based in Spanish Fork.

The Dinos hadn’t been on the court since December 15, and maybe showed a little rust in the first quarter, giving up 19 to American Leadership. In the second, they found their legs putting up 18 and holding their opponent to six points taking the 29-25 lead into halftime.

The second half was a battle, as the two teams would go back-and-forth in the third and playing even in the fourth with the lead changing hands, fortunately for the Dinos, as last second heave at the buzzer by American Leadership fell short giving Carbon the one point victory.

Braxton Stevenson had a huge night for the Dinos with 21 points, shooting 54% from the field and going 3-6 from the three point line, he also grabbed six boards and had four assists. Chet Anderson added 13 with three assists and three steals and Ashton Ferguson had a great night for the Dinos as well, with nine points, 10 rebounds and four assists.

Carbon heads out on the road on Friday to face Providence Hall, in a game that you will be able to listen to on KRPX 95.3 The Peak. The Landon’s Diesel Service Pre-game Show will begin at 6:30 and tip-off will follow at 7.
